Strawberry mint salt bar

This is a saltbar, a soap made with sea salt. The pink part is scented with Strawberry Fields, the white part with peppermint. Unfortunately I put in a little too much pink colouring, but it doesn't leave stains on cloths/towels and is easily rinsed off the sink.

Questo sapone è fatto con sale marino. La parte rosa è profumata di fragola, la parte bianca alla menta. Sfortunatamente ho sbagliato un po' il colore, ma non lascia macchie su vestiti e/o asciugamani e si risciaqua facilmente.

Dit is een saltbar, gemaakt met zeezout. Het roze gedeelte is gegeurd met Strawberry Fields, het witte gedeelte met pepermunt. Ik heb wel lichtjes overdreven met de roze kleurstof, maar gelukkig laat het geen vlekken op kleding en/of handdoeken en kan je het makkelijk wegspoelen in de wastafel.

Oh-Viola

Here's a nice soap I made some time ago, but still didn't put here, what a shame! It's basically the same soap as the Oh-Livia, but with a funnel-swirl in violet and scented with lovely Wild Violet. Looks, smells and feels like spring!

Questo sapone l'ho fatto già un po' di tempo fà, ma - che vergogna - non avevo messo qui. E la stessa formula che Oh-Livia, ma con profumo di Viole Selvatiche. Sembra l'essenza della primavera!

Dit zeepje maakte ik al een tijdje geleden, maar had ik hier -tot mijn schaamte - nog niet gezet. Het is dezelfde basis-zeep als Oh-Livia, maar dan met een paarse trechter-swirl en met een zalige Wilde Viooltjes geur. Het doet helemaal aan de lente denken!

Oh-Livia

A very soft soap, made of 95% olive oil and 5% castor oil and with a nice 'cotton fresh' perfume. This soap is very soft on the skin and therefore also suitable for baby's delicate skin.

Un sapone molto delicato, fatto con 95% di olio d'oliva e 5% olio di ricino, con un buon profumo "fresco cottone". Questo sapone è molto morbido e percio è anche adatto per la pelle delicata dei bimbi più piccoli.

Een zalig zacht zeepje van 95% olijfolie en 5% ricinus olie met "fris katoen" geurtje. Deze zeep is erg zacht voor de huid en is daarom ook geschikt voor baby's delicate velletje.

Honey & Oatmeal, new batch

Remember my Honey & Oatmeal soap? It was all finished, so I made a new batch. Same procedure, only I have added "Honey, milk & oatmeal" PO instead of almond essence.

Vi ricordate il mio sapone Miele & Avena? Era tutto finito e allora ne ho fatto uno nuovo. Stessa procedura, solo che ho messo profumo di "Miele, latte & avena" invece dell'essenza di mandorla.

Ken je mijn Haver & Honing zeep nog? Die was allemaal op, dus heb ik een nieuwe batch gemaakt. Zelfde procedure, alleen heb ik "Honing, melk & haver" PO toegevoegd i.p.v. amandel essence.

Gothic

I made only 6 pieces of this Gothic soap, because I didn't think it would be big success. But I'm left with only 1 piece already, as so many people wanted it! Luckily I had time to take a picture of this black-and-purple soap with patchouli and rosewood scent. I have tried it first myself, as I was a bit affraid the foam would colour black, but it doesn't! The soap has a nice, soft, white foam.
Ho fatto solo 6 pezzi di questo sapone Gothic, perchè non pensavo sarebbe un gran successo. Ma mi è rimasto già solo un pezzo e non ho avuto neanche il tempo di metterla qui! Meno male che ho avuto il tempo di fare una foto di questo sapone nero-viola al profumo di pacciuli e legno di rosa. L'ho provato prima di darlo ad altri, perchè avevo un po' paura che la schiuma sarebbe nera, ma invece ha una bella schiuma soffice e bianca.
Ik maakte maar 6 stukken van deze Gothic zeep, omdat ik niet dacht dat er veel vraag naar zou zijn. Maar na een paar dagen blijf ik met nog maar 1 stuk over! Gelukkig kon ik nog een foto maken van deze zwart-paarse zeep met patchouli en rozenhout geur. Ik heb ze wel eerst zelf getest, omdat ik een beetje bang was dat het zwart zou afgeven. Maar de zeep heeft een zacht, wit schuim!

Shampoo bar

I had the idea for a shampoo bar for my travelling husband, just as the shaving soap. Although most hotels have free shampoo, you never know what you'll get. I made this shampoo bar with many precious oils as avocado oil, wheat germ oil, castor oil, jojoba oil, sheabutter and cocoa butter. It is scented with peppermint and eucalyptus EO, for a fresh wake-up on the morning. I have used it and it gives a very nice, soft foam and leaves the hair squeaky clean. It's also nice to use on the skin, so ideal for backpackers and light travellers as well: one soap for the whole body.
Ho avuto l'idea per questo sapone per il mio marito viaggiatore, come il sapone da barba. Anche se la maggioranza degli hotel ha sempre shampo nel bagno, non si sa mai dove si va a finire. Per fare questa saponetta-shampo ho usato oli preggiati come l'olio di avocado, di germe di grano, di ricino, di jojoba, burro di karité e burro di cacao. L'ho profumato con essenze di menta piperita e eucalipto, per un risveglio fresco al mattino. Ho testato la saponetta sui miei capelli: mi ha dato una bella schiuma morbida e lascia i capelli freschi e puliti. Si può anche usare sulla pelle e perciò è ideale per chi ama viaggiare leggero: un sapone per tutto il corpo.
Ik kreeg het idee voor deze zeep voor mijn reizende echtgenoot, net zoals de scheerzeep. Ook al hebben de meeste hotels gratis shampoo (en douchegels), met de hedendaagse crisis weet je nooit waar je terechtkomt. Om deze shampoo-zeep te maken heb ik waardevolle oliën gebruikt zoals avocado-olie, tarwekiemolie, ricinusolie, jojoba-olie, karitéboter en cacaoboter. Ik heb hem gegeurd met EO van pepermunt en eucalyptus, om fris en monter wakker te worden. Ik heb hem zelf uitgeprobeerd en hij gaf een zalig zacht schuim (zelfs op vet haar) en maakt het haar helemaal proper. Ik was een beetje bang dat het moeilijk uit te kammen zou zijn, maar zelfs dat ging vlot bij mijn halflange haar. De shampoo-zeep kan ook op het lichaam gebruikt worden, wat het de ideale reisgenoot maakt van rugzak-reizigers of al wie graag licht reist.

Shaving soap

Lots of men use shaving foam or gel, but there are still men who prefer shaving soap. My husband always uses gel. But lately he's travelling a lot for work. And travelling for work often means flying. If he's away for only a few days he wants to take only hand-luggage, but with safety restrictions nowadays you can't taken any liquids and/or gels in your hand-luggage. This is why my husband asked me to make him a shaving soap: a bar of soap can safely be put in the hand-luggage.
I made this luscious shaving soap with olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, castor oil and kaolin clay (a white clay) that allows the rasor blade to slide softly over the skin. I have scented it with a mix of EO's and FO's: bergamot, patchouli, peppermint, ylang-ylang and grean tee. It's become a fresh and manly perfume. I have tested the shaving soap on my own legs and armpits and it shaves like a dream! And I even tried it on the most delicate place of my body and didn't get any rash!
La maggioranza degli uomini - come mio marito - preferisce radersi con la schiuma o gel da barba, ma ci sono ancora uomini che preferiscono il sapone. Ma ultimamente mio marito deve spesso viaggiare per il lavoro. Di solito viaggia con l'aereo e per pochi giorni. Ed allora preferisce portare solo il bagaglio a mano. Ma come sapete, con le regole di sicurezza che ci sono, è proibito portare dei liquidi (o gel) nel bagaglio a mano. Perciò ho fatto un sapone da barba per mio marito. Questo sapone è fatto con olio d'oliva, olio di cocco, olio di palma, olio di ricino ed argilla bianca. L'argilla serve per far scivolare la lametta senza tagliare la pelle. L'ho profumato con bergamotto, patchouli, menta, ylang-ylang e tè verde. E' un profumo fresco e virile.
Ho testato il sapone sulle mie gambe ed ascelle ed il risultato era ottimo: pelle liscia, niente taglietti! L'ho persino testato sulla parte più delicata della mia pelle ed è andato benissimo, senza pelle irritata o prurito.
De meeste mannen scheren zich met scheerschuim of -gel, maar er zijn nog mannen die scheerzeep gebruiken. Mijn echtgenoot gebruikt meestal scheergel. Maar de laatste tijd moet hij nogal veel reizen voor het werk. En reizen voor het werk is meestal per vliegtuig en soms maar voor een dag of 2. Hij neemt dan liefst alleen handbagage mee. Maar zoals je wel weet zijn er tegenwoordig nogal strenge veiligheidsregels, waardoor je geen vloeistoffen en/of gels mag meenemen. Daarom heb ik deze scheerzeep gemaakt. Deze zachte scheerzeep is gemaakt met olijfolie, kokosolie, palmolie, ricinus olie (ofte wonderolie) en kaolien klei, een witte klei die ervoor zorgt dat het scheermesje zacht over de huid glijdt. Voor de geur gebruikte ik een mengeling van EO's en PO's: bergamot, patchouli, pepermunt, ylang-ylang en groene thee. Het is echt een frisse, mannelijke geur geworden.
Ik heb de scheerzeep op mijn eigen benen en oksels getest: zacht schuim, gladde huid en geen wondjes! Zelfs mijn bikini-lijn doorstond de scheertest zonder "boebels".

Crincle cut Colorama

I recently bought a crincle cutter: this is a kind of knife with a crincled blade. It is used to cut pieces of soap in a nice shape. Of course I had to try it out immediately, so I cut a piece of my Colorama soap. And yes, I love it! You'll be seeing more of crincle-cut soapbars in the future!
Un paio di giorni fà ho comprato un "crincle cutter": è un tipo di coltello con la lama ondulata e si usa per tagliare il sapone. Ho dovuto provarlo subito ed ho tagliato un pezzetto del Colorama. Mi piace un sacco! Vedrete passare delle altre saponette tagliate cosi nel futuro!

Argilla

The last soap before I leave on holiday. A palm-, coconut- and olive oil CP soap. The white half is scented with petitgrain and ylang-ylang, the green part is coloured with green montmorillonite clay and scented with grean tea PO. It still has to cure for some weeks, but as I'll be away for almost 2 weeks that won't be a problem ;o).
L'ultimo sapone prima delle vacanze. A base di olio di palma, noce di cocco e olive. La parte bianca è profumata con petitgrain e ylang-ylang EO, la parte verde è colorata con argilla verde montmorillonite e profumato con PO di tè verde. Ora deve "riposare" per qualche settimana, ma siccome saro' in ferie per quasi due settimane, non sarà un problema ;o) .

Sweet Coffee

This is a HP half coconut/half olive oil soap, coloured with strong coffee and scented with sweet vanille PO, hence the name: Sweet Coffee. It's an ideal soap to use in the kitchen, as coffee is known for being able to remove odours. Even after cleaning fish your hands will be clean and with no odours left!
Questo sapone è metà/metà olio di oliva e olio di cocco. L'ho colorato con caffè forte e profumato con vaniglia. Da quest'ultimo deriva il nome: Caffè Dolce. Un sapone ideale da usare in cucina, perchè il caffè è noto per togliere gli odori. Anche dopo aver squamato un pesce le mani risultano pulite e inodore!

Mediterranée

I got the idea for this soap one morning at 5:30! Now that's what I call an obsession ;o) . I couldn't get back to sleep, so I got op at 6 o'clock to make it. The base of this soap is a hot process made with half/half coconut and olive oil, which I have overfatted 10% with sheabutter after gelling. When the soap was ready to pour in the mould I have added little pieces of henna-tattoo soap (a way to save the disaster batch ;o) ). The pieces of henna-soap are scented with Orange blossom scent, the light blue base has a nice oriental scent: Marakesh. Because it has been overfatted with sheabutter it is very soft on your skin. The blue color with brown pieces reminds me of the mediterranean sea and it's beaches.
Ho avuto l'idea per questo sapone una mattina alle ore 5:30! Si puo' passare per ossessione, no? Comunque, non riuscivo più a dormire ed allora mi sono alzata alle 6 per farlo. La base azzurra di questo sapone è un 'Hot Process' fatto con metà/metà olio di cocco e di oliva. Ho reso questo sapone super-dolce per la pelle aggiungendo del burro di karité a fine processo. Ho anche aggiunto dei pezzetti di sapone henna-tatù (per salvare almeno un po' del disastro ;o) ). Questi pezzetti hanno il profumo di fiori d'arancio, mentre la base azzurra è profumata con un profume leggero orientale: Marakesh. Il colore azzurro con pezzi marrone mi fà pensare il mare mediterraneo e le sue spiaggie.

Pink Marrakesh

This is my first Whipped Process soap. For this process the lye needs to be cold and also the oils are cold (for CP both need to be around 50°C). It uses a major amount of solid oils (type coconut or palm oil) that is whipped as if it were whipped cream. I keep on whipping it during the whole process of adding liquid oils and lye. This gives it a very airy and light structure and makes it ideal for use in the bathtub: it doesn't sink. As in the recipe it said that the colour in this soap tends to be very light, I've added a bigger amount of colour than usual. And indeed the colour stayed very light licac.....but when I removed it from the mould it had turned this bright fuchsia! It has an oriental scent called Marrakesh.
Questo è il mio primo sapone con il processo "montato". Per questo tipo di sapone tutti gli ingredienti devono essere freddi (invece di +/- 50°C) e si usa una maggiore quantità di oli solidi (tipo olio di noce di cocco o di palma). Gli oli solidi vengono "montati" come se fosse panna, e si continua a montare aggiungendo gli oli liquidi ed altri ingredienti. Questo risulta in un sapone molto leggero, ideale da usare nella vasca da bagno, perchè galleggia. Siccome la ricetta diceva che i colori in questo tipo di sapone risultano molto chiari, ho aggiunto più colore che al solito. Infatti il colore nel sapone "montato" risultava un lilà chiarissimo, ma quando l'ho tolto dalla forma, sotte era tornato un bel rosa fuchsia! Questo sapone ha un profumo orientale, Marrakesh.

Gift box with soap and bathbombflowers

These giftboxes are for a little girl's schoolteachers. I filled them with a Honey&Oatmeal soapbar and flower-shaped bathbombs in a tender pink color.
Ho fatto queste confezioni regalo per le maestre di una bimba. Ci ho messo una barra di sapone Miele&Avena e dei fiori frizzanti da bagno.

Another gift set with foot soak an scrub

Another gift set, this one I made for a swap. I combined a cute beauty case with a blue towel, blue scrub glove and blue socks and added the foot soak, foot scrub and foot (body) balm and a bar of the blue dolphin soap.
Un'altra confezione regalo; ho fatto questo per uno 'scambio'. Ho combinato un beauty case carino con un asciugamano, guanto en calzine azzurre ed ho aggiunto il soak, scrub e balsamo per i piedi ed un pezzo del sapone blu.

Dolphin soap

This is an overfatted soap: a coconut-sunflower oil, overfatted with 10% of sheabutter after trace, which makes it soother on the skin. It looks nice, but this was almost one for the "soap gone bad" section! I wanted to try a swirl again, with nice blue lines in the white background, but the Bergamot PO reacted wrong...I turned from CP to HP and mixed the soap again after gelling and that saved it! Instead of a swirl it's a nice blue, so I decorated it with a dolphin stamp.
Questo è un sapone supergrasso: noce di cocco e girasole che ho fatto saponificare, dopodichè ho aggiunto del burro di karité. Questo sapone dovrebbe essere più morbido sulla pelle delicata. E venuto abbastanza bene, ma quasi quasi era andato male. Il profume di bergamotto ha fatto una reazione con il sapone ed ho dovuto metterlo nel forno per salvarlo. Una 'mixata' dopo il gel, ed è venuto un bel sapone azzurro (invece di un sapone marmoreggiato). L'ho decorato con uno stampo a forma di delfino.

Oatmeal and honey soap

A basic coconut-sunflower soap, hot processed in the oven. Afterwards I have added oatmeal and some honey and a little almond essence. The honey coloured it in this marvelous golden-brown. And do you like my moon-stamp?

Un sapone base con olio di noce di cocco e olio di girasole, con processo a caldo nel forno. Dopo ho aggiunto un po' d'avena e di miele ed un po' d'essenza di mandorle. Il miele ha dato questo bel colore al sapone. E ti piace il mio stampo a forma di Luna?

Een eenvoudige zeep met kokos- en zonnebloemolie, in de oven verzeept. Na het verzepen in de oven heb ik wat havervlokken en honing toegevoegd en een beetje amandel-essence. De honing geeft deze zeep haar warme kleur. En wat vind je van mijn maan-stempel?

Henna tattoo

I simply love this soap! When I read that I could colour soap with henna-powder I just had to try it. I have henna-powder for henna tattoo's (my kids like to have a henna tattoo once in a while) and I knew exactly what scent I wanted to go with it: orangeblossom. Orange blossom extract and lemon juice are used to make a paste out of the henna powder for tattoo's, so I wanted this soap to smell just like the tattoo-paste. And it came out just fantastic! Although it started out as a CP, I made it gell in the oven, so it's really a OHP soap, using coconut and olive oil. I coloured it with henna powder and added orange blossom PO and a few drops of lemon EO. I also substituted part of the water for the lye with orange blossom extract. I finished the soaps with a tattoo-design (made with a thick needle). Isn't it just beautifull?

Adoro questo sapone!!! Quando ho letto che si puo' colorare il sapone con polvere di henné dovevo proverlo. Ho la polvere di henné in casa, perchè ai ragazzi piace avere un 'tatuaggio' ogni tanto. E sapevo subito il profumo giusto per questo sapone: fiori d'arancio! Per fare la pasta di henné con la polvere, si usa l'estratto di fiori d'arancio e succo di limone. Ed è diventato un sapone fantastico! Ho fatto il sapone con processo CP, aggiunto l'henné per colorarlo e PO di fiori d'arancio e qualche goccia di EO di limone, ma poi l'ho messo nel forno; allora è veramente un sapone OHP. Ho fatto un disegno 'tatù' su ogni saponetta con un ago grosso. Non è bellissimo?

Soap gone bad: Gorgonzola soap ;o)

This soap should have been a nice swirl soap with vanilla and coconut scent, but the soap reacted with the PO's and turned out gross: it looks like gorgonzola, doesn't it ;o) . The smell is nice, but the colour (should have been white and blue) is just not what it should be. This is a CP soap with palm oil, coconut oil and olive oil and scented with vanilla and coconut PO.

Questo sapone doveva avere un bel colore bianco-e-blu, ma invece assomiglia più al gorgonzola che al sapone ;o) . Ho usato olio di palma, noce di cocco e oliva ed è profumato con PO di vaniglia e noce di cocco. Infatti è il PO di vaniglia che ha avuto una brutta reazione con il sapone ed ha causato le macchie marroni.

4711 - Eau de Cologne

I made this soap for a swap. I had to make something that referred to Germany, so I thought of a soap with the scent of Germany's most famous Eau de cologne: 4711. It was a first try on the swirling technique, and turned out quite OK. This is a CP soap using coconut and olive oil and different EO's/PO's to get the 4711-scent.

Ho fatto questo sapone per un 'swap' (cambio di 'regalini'). Dovevo fare qualcose nel tema "Germania" e cosi ho provato di fare un sapone con il profumo dell'acqua di colonia più famosa: 4711. Era anche la prima volte che ho lavorato con 2 colori ed è venuto abbastanza bene. Ho usato olio di noce di cocco e olive e diversi EO/PO per arrivare al profumo 4711.

Heartshaped soaps, bathbombs and bathsalt

I have made these to give as presents on my son's 9th birthday: creamy heartshaped soaps (CP using coconut and olive oil) with mandarine scent, blue heartshaped bathbombs with lemon scent and pink fizzing bathsalt with rose-scent.

Ho fatto questi per il compleanno di mio figlio (da regalare ai compagni di classe): saponette a forma di cuore (CP con olio di noce di cocco e olio d'oliva) con profumo di mandarini, cuori frizzanti da bagno con profume di limone e sale frizzante da bagno rosa, con profumo di rose.
